OK, Kathy is going to type some!
Joe and I both woke up this morning at 4:15, looked around and realized that one year ago today, we were meeting our daughter for the first time. We had a moment for about 30 seconds, and then fell back asleep... something we didn't do much of a year ago. Not only has Calla changed a lot in one year, but so have we. For one, Chloe has learned that she can directly benefit from Calla's meal times. For another, we've learned to appreciate how fast a crawling/cruising/nearly walking baby can move when she's got her eye on something. You think she's playing quietly, turn around to get a cup of coffee, and bam - she's playing in the cat's water bowl, or climbing up the top step. Keeps life exciting, I guess.
Calla had no idea, of course, why Mom and Dad sang a crazy song to her this morning in her crib, or why she keeps getting things with tissue paper handed to her. But the tissue paper is fun, and so is singing, so why ask why? Here's to another crazy 12 months, Calla Grace, filled with lots more changes for all of us!

Happy Birthday to Calla! Although it's more of a celebration of Mommy and Daddy's survival of the first year! It gets more fun, exciting, frustrating, exhilarating, baffling, and unbelievable from here on out. Don't let one little moment slip from your notice!
