Baptism, carrots, etc

Hello again, everyone. These past few weeks have certainly been busy! Calla has been baptized since the last blog post, and is now a Lutheran. K has added her to the mailing list. Ha.

Lots of people made it into town for the baptism, and we thank them for their willingness to travel to Chicago in what turned out to be a pretty good snow storm. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, though, despite the weather.

Here are some recent pictures:

Then she laughs at him...

Happy baby.

Our big baptism group. Thanks for coming, everyone!

OK, this next sections requires some intro text. As you have seen in other posts, Calla is now eating some solid food. Whenever we introduce a new taste, I break out the camera to catch the reaction. Today's blue plate special is carrots.

Mom softens up the palate with a little oatmeal cereal...

Then the carrots come in!

Here's what she thinks of carrots... :-)

Christmas time's a'coming

Hi all. Calla Grace is doing great and we are having a ball with her as we enter the Christmas season for the first time with a baby. The tree is up, and she has been dressed in all kinds of odd outfits (see below). Calla has recently learned to roll over, but we haven't seen her do it yet. We only know she can because we find her post-roll (well, I haven't done this yet, but K is pretty sure she rolled). Calla has also found her feet, and has solved the puzzle of how to get her toes in her mouth. Smart. Calla has now also had her first cereal! We have moved on from rice to oatmeal, and she seems to like it, especially with the raisins and brown sugar. Har.

Calla checking the presents. She's just like her mother.

"What was that shiny thing?"

"Come here, foot!"
